The design of Taikan Fast Sushi is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese culture and contemporary urban architecture. The designers have cleverly utilized open and hollow spaces, incorporating extensive use of wood, water, and transparencies. The influence of Japanese wooden constructions is evident, making it a prominent visual element in the space. This is complemented by modern elements such as concrete, matte black, and geometric three-dimensional tiles.
What sets Taikan Fast Sushi apart is its innovative use of lighting and coating elements that evoke a cosmopolitan Japan. The restaurant spans 350 square meters, with the same prefabricated coating applied to the floor, ceiling, and walls. This design choice not only ensured speed in construction and cost reduction but also created a strong visual impact. LED bars embedded in the wall and ceiling add a dynamic light effect, reminiscent of chopsticks.
The restaurant's design also prioritizes practicality and comfort. With 91 tables accommodating 183 people, the space is designed to facilitate a fast flow of service, featuring a large buffet bench and several service boxes. The tables are spaced comfortably apart, creating a rich sensory ambiance with the sound of water, plants, and pleasant light.
The design process involved extensive research into Japanese architecture and its relationship with materials and the environment. This led to a design that beautifully encapsulates the synergy and union between internal and external space, and the balance between static and mobile elements. The project took two months in the design phase and three months in the construction phase.
